Used Luxury Cars | 2010 Nissan Altima Sedan Test Drive Review

If you haven't paid attention to the Altima since Bill Clinton was president, know it's grown from a compact economy car into a powerful, confident-handling, midsize, entry-level luxury sedan that maintains Nissan's sporty flavor and, especially for 2010, offers assertive styling.

The four-door Altima Sedan comes as the 2.5 CVT, 2.5 S and 3.5 SR CVT. Also, under the Altima umbrella is the Altima Coupe and Altima Hybrid sedan. (We'll leave the coupe and hybrid sedan for future reviews.) Here's how to decode Nissan's model nomenclature. The "2.5" indicates the car is fitted with a very strong 175-horsepower, 2.5-liter, four-cylinder. The "3.5" means it enjoys the awesome 270-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine. All Altimas are fitted with a "CVT," which stands for "continuously variable transmission." More on CVTs later. Prices start around $20,000 and go to almost $30,000 for the gas-engine cars.

If you're looking for an affordable, very roomy sedan, consider the 2.5 CVT. If you're willing to pay a bit more for Nissan's sporty feel, the 2.5 S CVT is an excellent choice. Those who like to go BMW hunting in the stoplight Grand Prix or on a curvy back road will be very entertained by the 270-horsepower 3.5 SR CVT.

Changes for 2010 feature a more assertive hood, grille and front bumper cover. Inside, the Altima received new fabrics. Electronic stability control, which Nissan calls VDC, now comes on all Altimas, but that's not too newsy as it will soon be government-required on all passenger vehicles. The 3.5 SR CVT (formerly called the SE) now comes with high-intensity discharge headlights.

Rather than physically changing gears like a conventional automatic, a CVT uses a belt and pulley system. It's designed to keep the engine at its most-efficient speed for the task required, regardless of whether that's optimum fuel mileage during highway cruising or maximum acceleration for merging into traffic. Few drivers will notice a difference between a CVT and a regular automatic, except for improved fuel economy and strong acceleration. Gearheads: The Altima's CVT also employs a small gearset to increase its effective ratio range. Don't take this too hard, gearheads, but the CVT does a far better job of maximizing the engine's performance than you could with a manual transmission.

The four-cylinder delivers 23 miles per gallon in the government's city driving test and a very impressive 32 mpg on the highway. The V6 is rated at 20 mpg in the city and 27 on the highway. Altimas are made in Tennessee and Mississippi.

The 2010 Altima received "Good" crash safety ratings by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in both front offset and side impact tests. In the government's crash test studies, the Altima Sedan scored high marks—five stars—in both driver and passenger frontal impacts, as well as side driver impacts, and four out of five stars in the rollover category and side rear passenger impact test.

If you're thinking about ditching the SUV for a spacious and sporty sedan, think about the 2010 Altima.

Used Luxury Cars | 2010 Lexus ES 350 - Test Drive

The entry-luxury Lexus ES 350 is a comfortable, compliant sedan that boasts the right amount of luxury, performance, safety and size without being either garish or boring—and without breaking the bank.

For 2010, the ES 350 gets a fresh face: new headlamps, grille, grille surround and front bumper with integrated fog lamps flanking a revised lower intake, plus redesigned tail lamps, chrome body side moldings, and new turn signals integrated into the outside mirrors. Also a slew of new features, including Lexus Enform and Safety Connect, a new security and convenience telematics suite similar to GM's ubiquitous OnStar system.

The only available powertrain is Lexus' 272-hp, DOHC, 24-valve 3.5-liter aluminum V6, with efficiency enhancing Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), coupled to a 6-speed Electronically Controlled Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i). This super-smooth automatic provides quick kick-down response and sequential manual shifting for those of us who sometimes like to manage our own shift timing.

As expected in a midsize luxo-sedan, the interior is rich and feature-filled, with average space for the class: plenty of room up front for the driver and primary passenger and reasonable real estate for two, or even three, adults in back. Also as expected is Lexus-level craftsmanship, enhanced for 2010 with standard leather-trimmed seating, bright Optitron gauges, premium wood, polished metal and leather accents. The three-spoke wood and leather steering wheel with handy audio, trip computer and information display controls is especially nice, as is the (available) large, easy to use color navigation touch screen.

Also standard are SmartAccess keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power moonroof, 10-way power front seats (with driver-seat memory), power tilt/telescope steering wheel adjustment, rain-sensing wipers, heated outside mirrors, an illuminated entry system with exterior and interior puddle lamps and even illuminated front cup holders. The standard audio system has a six-disc CD changer, automatic sound leveling, an integrated satellite radio receiver (with a complimentary 90-day trial subscription) plus iPod/USB connectivity (in the console), Bluetooth hands-free phone capability and music streaming.

The available Ultra-Luxury Package includes a panorama glass roof, perforated "semi-aniline" leather seating, a power rear sunshade, front passenger seat memory, HID Active Front Lighting (AFS) that follows the steering, that beautiful wood- and leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift knob, and exclusive "liquid graphite-finish" alloy wheels. The long list of stand-alone options includes the HID AFS, heated and ventilated front seats and Intuitive Park Assist (IPA) that uses ultrasonic sensors to detect objects close to either bumper. It alerts the driver and shows distances to objects in the multi-information display.

The optional touch-screen nav system uses "Voice Command" casual-language voice recognition, which comprehends conversational commands for control of audio, climate, and navigation. It also comes with a rear back-up camera, integrates control of personalized settings and has Bluetooth phonebook download. An optional 10-channel, 300-watt, 14-speaker Mark Levinson surround-sound audio system is available with navigation, and DVD movies can be viewed on the nav screen when the car is in park and the parking brake is engaged.

Also new are available-by-subscription Lexus Enform and Safety Connect. Safety Connect, available on any ES 350 with or without navigation, offers four safety and security features: Automatic Collision Notification, Stolen Vehicle Location, Emergency Assistance (SOS) and Enhanced Roadside Assistance, which adds GPS data to Lexus' roadside service. Lexus Enform, available on nav-equipped vehicles, adds Destination Assist and eDestination.

Destination Assist agents, available 24/7 via on-board cellular equipment, can help find an address, a specific business or type of business (gas station, theater, restaurant) and send coordinates to the nav system for routing. With eDestination, you can save and sort destinations online and send them to your car for download. Lexus Enform also offers subscriptions to XM NavTraffic, XM NavWeather and XM Sports and Stocks.

Standard Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with traction control integrates Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA). A new VSC cut-off switch is handy if you're trying to rock the car out of deep snow, mud or sand.

The 10-airbag Supplemental Restraint System includes advanced front and front seat-mounted side bags, rear seat-mounted side bags, full-length side-curtain bags and driver and front passenger knee bags. An optional Pre-Collision System (PCS) includes Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, which maintains a pre-set distance from vehicles ahead. If the PCS senses an impending collision, it pre-initializes Brake Assist, tightens the front seat belts, and Active Braking will automatically apply the brakes (up to 0.3 g) if the driver fails to react.

Used Luxury Cars | The Benefits of the 2010 Volkswagen GTI

First Impression
The 2010 Volkswagen GTI competes with BMW 3 series, Infiniti G convertible or Audi A4 because it brings a good feel and enough sensations at the seat of the driver's pants to create a great bond with the vehicle. It can be called another sport car on the road but it's more elaborate than that. It still has the old roof panel like the old designs

2010 Volkswagen is considered to be one of the best cars out there because of its refinements. Neatly bent creases replace softer lines along the body. 2010 Volkswagen now has larger taillights, angular headlights and tighter profile. The dual exhaust bookend the lower bumper - this is a sublime design addition that adds strength. Sit a 2010 Volkswagen GTI next to a 2009 and the changes are more apparent.

Used Luxury Cars | Used Cars 101

First, let's dispel the myth that is often the cliché associated with used cars. What exactly is a used car? Well, instead of a boring definition, here are a few examples of what makes a ride a used car. The moment you drive off the showroom floor with your newly-bought set of wheels, it is already considered a used car. A car may have been driven for a day or 10 years, both are considered as used cars. Most people buy a newer model of a car as soon as the latest one hits the showroom floors and immediately sell the old one. Their one-year old or less cars in pristine condition end up in the lots of a used car salesman's dealership as a used car.

Repossessed vehicles are sold off as used cars and most of these automobiles have barely burned rubber off the pavements. Cars in police impound or government auctions are for all intents and purposes considered as used cars, even if these had never seen the light of day and were lovingly kept in a garage or showroom. Some of these are higher-end luxury vehicles which can be purchased at an unbelievable fraction of their original cost. So try not to conjure up images of a beat-up old death trap with a tampered odometer when you hear the words "used car".

Now, why would you want to buy a used car? You would want to buy a used car for the very obvious reason that it is much cheaper to buy than a new one. The value of a car starts to depreciate on the very first day it is used, but do not equate depreciation of value with the over-all quality of the car itself. Granted, some cars depreciate in value much faster than other cars. However, a car that is rather pricey even If it is used is a sign that it is worth every penny and that it enjoys a good reputation for quality and performance. Now, why buy a brand new 2010 model of (insert car name here) when you can buy a perfectly good example of a much cheaper 2009 version of such a car?

Where can you find a reputable used car dealer? Nowadays, the answer to that is just a mouse-click away. Peruse through several sites on the net and look for the best used-car showrooms which are conveniently located close to your vicinity. You may also find used car dealerships in the local classified ads, just in case you cannot locate one in the net which is close to where you live.

Finally, the one thing you may be left worrying about which makes you hesitate in purchasing a used car is that you have no idea how the car was maintained and used by the previous owner. Not all used cars were meticulously maintained by someone's Aunt Matilda and were never driven under the rain or snow, nor were these carefully draped over on a silk bed sheet inside a garage. For your peace of mind, you can have a seasoned mechanic tag along to check under the hood when buying a used car. However, most used cars dealerships these days stay afloat by selling only the best used cars, so you need not worry too much about the quality of the cars sold.

Used Luxury Cars | Hydrogen Cars - No Petrol, No Diesel!

What's the first think you wish on hitting the road, especially if stuck in a jam is blame round the world's love affair with the fuel-hungry SUVs. Using hydrogen and fuel-cell technologies is a key part of bringing down greenhouse gas emissions and addressing climate change. Fuel cell systems offer a promising technology of the future with advantages that include zero emissions, high efficiency and minimal noise.

--No global warming... no ozone depletion... no acid rain... and 100% pollution free environment--is the utmost need to save our environment. I think God has been now kind to accept the endless prayers of all of us. No kidding man! He has already answered it through the genius scientist who have developed Hydrogen Car... It's a lightweight vehicle powered by a hydrogen fuel cell with enough style and space to compete with luxury sport utility vehicles (SUVs).

These cars generally use the hydrogen in one of two methods: combustion or fuel-cell conversion. In combustion, the hydrogen is "burned" in engines in fundamentally the same method as traditional gasoline cars. In fuel-cell conversion, the hydrogen is turned into electricity through fuel cells which then power electric motors.

What's more you wanna ask about hydrogen cars... These hydrogen cars come in the clean, "green" future envisioned by energy experts, cars not only get 99 miles per gallon emissions-free, but they may also play a key role in providing electricity to a power-hungry world.
Vehicle developed would be three to four times more expensive than the conventional two- or three-wheeler and the cost of operation would also be more. But as the technology develops, the cost is expected to come down substantially.

The governments world over are helping fund the research for development of hydrogen using renewable sources in place of the present dependence on coal or natural gas. It is also being produced as a by-product in chemical and fertiliser industries.

The new 5 KW fuel cell hydrogen vehicles will usher in a new generation in fuel cell technology. The hydrogen needed to fuel these vehicles can be produced by means that would lower reliance on f oil supplies and thus, provide energy security. Emitting only heat and water as by-products of this process, the fuel cell systems are environment friendly and can run continuously as long as fuel is supplied. Each recharge currently gives around 70 km mileage. Attempts are also on to increase the mileage of the hydrogen vehicle to 100-150 km per recharge.

Hydrogen cars use hydregen derived from water as primary source of power for locomotion. British Columbia's leadership in the development of hydrogen and fuel-cell technologies, and builds on the commitment to have the world's first hydrogen highway developed in time for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games," said Richard Neufeld, British Columbia's Minister of Energy and Mines.
R. John Efford, Minister of Natural Resources Canada. "By working together, we can make sure Canada continues to be known as a world leader in putting these technologies on the road." The Government of Canada has invested $4.5 million in this project. No global warming or ozone depletion, renewable, no acid rain, 100% pollution free.

In India, the ministry of non-conventional energy sources (MNES) is hopeful of having hydrogen-driven vehicles on Indian roads by 2007 with International Tractors Ltd (ITL) having agreed to undertake commercial production. "With ITL, which manufactures Sonalika brand of tractors, having agreed to undertake commercial manufacture of two- and three-wheeler hydrogen vehicles developed by the Banaras Hindu University (BHU), we hope to have them available by 2007," said S K Chopra, senior advisor in MNES. BHU has been using 50 demo vehicles in its campus for the last several years. While development of affordable hydrogen fuel cell vehicles using renewable sources of energy still remains a target for a large number of countries including India, the vehicle developed by the BHU uses metal hydrite or solid rods to store hydrogen, an environment friendly fuel. The ministry has finalized the hydrogen roadmap that envisages India generating 1,000 MW power and one million hydrogen driven vehicles on the roads by 2020 with an estimated investment of Rs 2500 crore. The roadmap is to be part of the integrated energy policy being finalized Reva Electric Car Company Pvt Ltd (RECC) and Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) will develop two fuel cell hydrogen vehicles (FCVs) for a pilot project initiated by IOC, to develop hydrogen economy in India. According to the agreement, RECC will use its expertise to build these hydrogen vehicles with fuel cell power modules and associated components to be sourced from abroad and IOC will provide the infrastructure needed to supply and stock hydrogen and to test the vehicles at its Research and Development (R&D) centre in Faridabad.

Used Luxury Cars | Audi - New Up-Coming Models in 2010

Started its journey in 1899 by August Horch, Audi has always been one of the most admired car manufacturers in the automotive industry. If we talk in terms of innovation, safety and technologically sound vehicles then Audi is one of the few car manufacturers that have always lead the way ahead of competition. In fact, Audi has always had a long history of producing well-built quality cars, and in the next year the industry is once again going to introduce new models at the most competitive prices. So if you are deciding or planning to purchase a new Audi, here are some of most preferred models that you can find in the market in the year 2010 -

A3: In the coming year 2010, the A3 will be introduced in the international market with the two-litre turbo diesel engine that is generally found in the Volkswagen Jetta TDI along with 140 horsepower, 236 lb-ft of torque, and a six-speed S-tronic (twin clutch) automatic transmission driving the front wheels. In this new model, you will find all new makeover in comparison to the last year. Adding to this, you may even find another upgrade like the previous S-line option package will be more standard and bringing a roof spoiler, re-skinned bumpers, and brushed-aluminum trim. If we talk in relation to its exterior look then from back the upcoming model will have the sloping rear window that will further give a more aggressive appearance. As a whole, the 2010 Audi A3 will surely be the one of the best looking cars in the market.

A5 COUPE: In 2010, you will find the A5 COUPE model with four-cylinder form. Though you may find the car model with the same 211 horsepower 2.0T engine found in the A4, but as a buyer you can enjoy the option of choosing between the manual or automatic transmissions, and Quattro all-wheel-drive standard. However, the key feature that will make this model more attractive is its adaptation of the A4's trim line-up, with Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige models. In addition to this, other modifications that you may find will include an upgraded navigation system and LED taillights for Premium Plus and Prestige models.

A5 Cabriolet: In 2010, you will be surprised to see the A5 Cabriolet as a new soft-top convertible version of the A5. Though this new latest model may use some of the same components as that of the latest Audi A4 sedan, but as the new model year, you will find a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine in either body style. A5 Cabriolet will also feature three-zone automatic climate control; an intelligent key system; and a 10-speaker sound system with MP3 player inputs. If we talk in terms of look then it really appears to be as gorgeous as the A5 looks in hardtop form, and maybe even better as a convertible. The 2010 Audi A5 Cabriolet will actually make you feel more lavish and luxurious as you may find fine yet high-grade materials and plenty of attention to small details like the finely graded instruments and the light grace notes of metallic trim on switches and buttons, which adds to its elegant look.

Q5: The new 2010 Audi model Audi Q5 will still carry the same sporty look, though this time you will see new wood trim options along with an improved tire pressure monitoring system. Adding to this, this prestige model will also have the standard blind spot warning system along with an optional Luxury package, which includes leather-trimmed armrests and ventilated seats and dash top. However, one key feature that you will really enjoy is its gravity-friendly experience. Steering is compact and direct; braking is much stronger and a tight turning radius eases closes quarters maneuvering. Apart from this, the combination of six cylinders and quattro also provides the 2010 Audi Q5 quick feet.

These are some of the popular Audi car models that you will see in the next year. So if you are planning to have any of these models, it is sensible you perform proper research regarding the authentic dealers and after-sales service provided by the dealers when you purchase the car. Used Luxury Cars | Luxury and Style Apart of Acura Legend

Honda's luxury offspring, Acura, has been busy revamping vehicles since the beginning of the new millennium, using modern design, heavy on technological gadgets, yet maintaining a lower price tag in comparison to other vehicles in the luxury class. So how did Acura do in 2009?

Acura released two redesigned models in 2009, the TL and TSX, and updated the RL mid-year. The TL continues to be Acura's top selling vehicle, selling 33,620 in 2009, though down from 48,766, in 2008. It received excellent reviews for performance, but the critics have mixed feelings on the design style, thanks to a beak-like front end. The redesign includes a more powerful 3.5-liter V6 engine, lighter steering and larger interior.

The TSX, while also increasing its size over previous years, is the smallest vehicle Acura offers. Sales decreases from 2008 to 2009 were less than with the TL, from 31,998 to 28,650 for the year, but with increasing sales on a month-to-month basis. With a good safety rating across the board, increased torque and power distribution and many luxury features, the TSX was a finalist in Motor Trend's Car of the Year Award.

While the MDX luxury SUV and the RDX crossover sales are holding strong, with new upgrades and facelifts, the Acura RL, produces the softest numbers. With the TL gaining more power and features, it is undermining the flagship model's relevance, though a complete makeover is coming by 2011.

Following the sales in the auto industry as a whole, each model has had falling production numbers over the last several years and stocks fell in 2009, but the Acura continues to remain competitive. With the release of the 2010 wide-shouldered ZDX, a 4-door coupe, and the upgraded engine in the TSX for the 2010 models, Acura is hoping to reverse the trend.

Used Luxury Cars | A Review of Toyotas For Sale

When talking about great cars, one of the great companies, Toyota, resounds in every mind. Toyota Motor Corporation or Toyota is a Japan based auto-mobile manufacturer that has been serving people with outstanding cars since 1937. They have received the renowned position of world's largest auto-makers in 2006. With many ups and downs, they are now striving to procure the topmost position by manufacturing a selective range of auto-mobiles.

But unfortunately, viewing today's time, it is hard to make any conclusive remarks on whether this company can surpass any other brand or not. With the recent forestalling of eight models including some models of Corolla, Tundra, Camry etc., Toyota cars are losing their enticement in the market which was once prevalent. But its manufactured cars that have made the history in catering to the needs of the customers back few years are laudable. Let's flick through such great models of Toyota in synopsis.

Toyota Manufactured Cars- Shape & Design

Toyota Land Cruiser - Easily detectable from the distance with its rugged characteristics and classic styling, Land Cruiser has no doubt won the hearts of many car enthusiasts. Though it did not turn out to be astonishing or inspiring like some of its rivals, it has established a benchmark for the 4WD class. The ultra advanced interior styling makes it compatible with people who are in search of techno-luxury. The heavy technological presentation sets a complete contrast to the nature of rough-and-tough car like this. Many critics also frowned over its excess use of switches, plugs and gadgets.

Toyota RAV4 - Toyota did not adopt the traditional way of interior styling while remodeling 2010 RAV4, especially when it comes to the instrument panel. Many reviewers found the new look of RAV4 a little more rugged than previous versions. According to Kelley Blue Book and MyRide, the most recent redesigning has made it more basic and classic rather than cute from the previous version. Moreover, elimination of extraneous curves and body armour give it a superb finishing.

Toyota Corolla- As maintained by Motor Trend, the new version of Toyota Corolla is a bit longer, lower, and wider which helps tremendously to improve the car's appearance. Used Luxury Cars | The Range Rover Sport Brings Two Worlds Together

The iconic British company Land Rover has overhauled the Range Rover Sport for 2010. This year's model will feature quite a few noticeable performance upgrades including a pair of high performance Supercharged engines, a six-speed automatic transmission and an economical advantage over its older brothers.

Smooth Driving in Any Terrain

The Sport is no doubt a luxury car. Judging from its sleek finish and aerodynamic LED design, it is easy to overlook that the car can withstand a variety of unforgiving roads. Like other sports utility vehicles under the Land Rover marque however, the fact still remains that the Sport is a very reliable and very powerful SUV.

The sporty luxury car may look like a behemoth of a tank but it certainly does not feel like one. Designed to be highly adaptive, there are a number of systems equipped on the car which will help optimize the car's performance under any road condition. With a simple turn of the dial, the car will automatically choose car presets to adapt to a number of different terrains.

The Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) that comes with Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) along with the Sport's Roll Stability Control (RSC) will sense weight adjustments on the air springs and automatically adjusts the ride height to accommodate it. These road response systems ensure a very comfortable ride even under harsh road conditions or aggressive driving.

Entertainment for the Whole Family

The Sport is quite an expensive buy and although Land Rover has done a good job by improving fuel efficiency, it cannot fully replace a family SUV in terms of maintenance. It does, however, have a few features that may keep the kids of cost-is-no-object parents at bay for most family trips.

Car entertainment options can be expanded to include a DVD player with a twin screen rear entertainment system. For long trips that particularly exhaust parents, being able to pop-in a DVD for the kids is a godsend. This device's downfall though lies in its position. When installed, it is located in an obscure, tiny access panel which is hardly noticeable.

A Hybrid television system can optionally be installed into the Sport as well to allow analog and digital TV channels for those who spend most of their time on the road. A feature to include iPod connectivity can also be installed as well as a "Premium Ice Pack Harman/Kardon LOGIC7" digital surround system for those who also want to super charge their media options. Phone connectivity is a default feature that makes use of the Personal Telephone Integration (PTI) system. This supports mobile phone connection with the use of Bluetooth.

The Range Rover Sport is a worthy entry into the driver-focused 4x4 competition. Land Rover has done well in balancing practical use with luxury features. The Sport packs quite a punch both as a city car and as a rough road explorer. Old reliability problems that are the norm for Land Rover cars may not have been completely solved but much has improved in this sporty model. If you're in the market for luxury SUVs, the 2010 Rover Sport is most definitely worth checking out if you have the budget for it.

Used Sports Cars | 2010s Best Eco Cars

2009 saw an influx of green cars into the mainstream market but 2010 is set to be the year where they become far more commonplace on our roads. With the increased onus people are placing on their carbon footprint, greener cars are something moving to the forefront of more and more people's minds. Here's a look at some of 2010s best offerings:

Tesla: Roadster Sport

Believe it or not, Tesla has been producing eco-friendly cars since 2003 and between then and 2009 they received 900 orders for their original Roadster. Technically, the new Roadster Sport isn't new for 2010 as it became available last year but with the increased public focus on the environment it is set to be Tesla's biggest year yet. The car is run on an electric engine with zero carbon emissions but produces a massive 248bhp and can reach 60mph from a standstill in an astonishing 3.7 seconds!

Hyundai: Sonata Hybrid

Hybrid technology was pioneered by Toyata and since then Mercedes, BMW, GM, Ford, Honda and Nissan have all followed suit but relative to the car market the number of hybrid vehicles available is tiny. Hyundai are the latest manufacturer to come up with a hybrid concept, a version of its Sonata model that was displayed for the first time at the LA auto show back in November. The Sonata Hybrid has a 2.4 litre engine but also a 40bhp electric motor that combines with the combustion in the normal engine to drastically reduce emissions.

Chevrolet: Volt / Vauxhall: Ampera

This car will be known as the Chevrolet Volt in the US and it will be released by Vauxhall in Europe as the Ampera and is scheduled to hit the market in November. Another hybrid concept but with a bit of a twist, the car travels up to 40 miles solely using the lithium-ion battery powered engine then the normal engine takes over meaning it has a range of over 300 miles.

Nissan: LEAF

Probably the most hyped and anticipated green vehicle yet and after all the speculation 2010 is set to be the year when it is finally released. This car is a totally new technology and more practical than any other electric vehicle to date; it has a range of 100 miles and can be charged to 80 per cent capacity in just half an hour. It was rated by Time magazine as one of the top 50 inventions of 2009 and is expected to receive backing from Governments and companies worldwide.

Used Sports Cars | 2010 EL Camino - Perfect Blend of Truck & Coupe!

The 2010 EL Camino will blur the line between trucks and cars and will create an all-new segment in the car market. This model will blend the cargo capabilities of a light truck with the sporty handling performance of a coupe model.

The new model will be designed based on the Pontiac G8 sedan platform and will come with the longer wheel base and cargo space. The sport truck, EL Camino will stretch the performance and style and is expected to hit the market by the end of 2009 as 2010 model vehicle. 2010 Pontiac Vibe will be yet another sensational launch from Pontiac this year.

Coming back to the 2010 EL Camino, its sporty exterior will be same as that of the sedan model. 18 inch wheels with flared fenders wrapped around them will appear a bit wider when compared with the present G8 model. A soft cover, and color coordinated conceal will protect items in the cargo bed from all weather conditions.

As far as the performance of the vehicle is concerned, the sport truck will gain its strength from the 6.0 liter V8 engine, which is used in the current G8 GT model. It will deliver more than 270 kilo watts of power and 522 Nm of torque. The combination of active fuel management technology and 6-speed automatic transmission will provide better fuel economy. Similar to that of the G8 sport truck, the new EL Camino model will offer flexibility. A 73.9 inch cargo bed will have a cargo space of 42.7 cubic feet and also a composite bed liner. It will come with the payload capacity of 1074 pounds.

Used Sports Cars | 2010 Ford Fusion - Ford's Game Face

The previous Ford Fusion's 2.3-liter four-cylinder grows to 2.5 liters. New 2010 models equipped with the updated 3.0-liter V6 will receive the Flex Fuel Vehicle (FFV) designation with the capability of digesting E85 fuel, and a 3.5-liter version of the V6 Duratec is added to the lineup.

Fusion sedans boast a long list of new features designed to keep it extremely competitive in the cutthroat midsize sedan market. Highlights include aggressive new front-end styling, a choice of three very fuel-efficient and powerful engines, an all-new sporty version, and safety ratings that are hard to top.

The Fusion's restyled front end includes a more aggressive grille, a domed hood and new headlights. To help improve fuel mileage, underbody panels improve aerodynamic efficiency. The Fusion offers a wider, sportier look. The interior has been restyled too, with metallic finished trim on the center instrument panel and steering wheel and doors.

When equipped with the 3.0-liter FFV V6 and an automatic transmission, the Fusion got 26 mpg in the highway test and 18 mpg on the city: Ford expects those numbers to rise to an estimated 19 city and 28 highway for 2010. All-wheel-drive versions recorded 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway for 2009. 2010 models are expected to see an improvement in overall fuel economy. The 3.5-liter V6 is available only in the new Fusion SPORT edition.

Only slightly behind safety and economy, Americans like power—and the 2010 delivers. Compared to the previous 2.3-liter, the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine makes 15 more horsepower and 16 addition pound feet of torque for totals of 175 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque. Those are numbers once reserved for powerful V6s and smaller V8s. The old four-cylinder engine used to come with a five-speed automatic. Now it has six-speed versions of each. The additional gears help produce adequate acceleration to merge into traffic and excellent highway fuel mileage.

The 3.0-liter FFV V6 engine gets 19 more horsepower, to 240, and 17 more pound-feet of torque, to 222. The 3.0 running on E85, 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline boosts horsepower to 250 but reduces overall fuel mileage. Not long ago, those were great numbers for a sporty V8. The new engine in the lineup, the Fusion SPORT's 3.5-liter V6 teamed with the 6-speed SelectShift, produces a strong 263 horsepower and a peak of 249 pound-feet of torque for a more spirited driving experience.

One way Ford engineers got more power out of these engines is with electric power assist steering, featured on the new 2.5L and 3.0L engines. Rather than the previously employed hydraulic assist that relied upon engine power, electric power assist draws no power when the vehicle is going in a straight line.

The 2010 Ford Fusion got the government's five-star rating, the highest available in front driver, passenger, and side impact tests and rollover testing in the all-wheel-drive model. It received four out of five stars for side rear passenger impact and front-wheel-drive roll over. Electronic stability control and four-wheel, anti-lock brakes are standard.

For those who regularly encounter deep snow, the Fusion is available with all-wheel drive when equipped with either of the V6 engines. To improve handling, ride comfort and steering feel, Ford revised and retuned Fusion's suspension, front and rear. To decrease wind and road noise, the 2010 Fusion gets an acoustic windshield, thicker front door glass, thicker hood insulation, and sound-deadening materials in the doors, trunk and headliner. In addition to the 263-horsepower V6, the 2010 Fusion SPORT gets 18-inch diameter wheels, a sport-tuned air intake and stiffer suspension tuning. On the outside, the Sport gets a special lower grille, side rocker moldings and a trunk-mounted spoiler. An available feature that may help prevent a parking lot fender bender is the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross Traffic Alert. This radar-based system warns drivers of hidden traffic approaching.

Ford's popular SYNC voice-activation and entertainment system, compatible with most Bluetooth-enabled cell phones and MP3 capable devices, is an available feature. Fusion offers a Sony surround sound system that boasts 12 speakers and 390 watts.

Used Sports Cars | 2010 BMW 530i Review

The c model is expected to hit the car market by the end of model year 2010. The next generation BMW 5-series models will be luxury sport sedans featuring a complete redesign; the changes to the luxury sedan model seem more like restrained refinement. The present model is already a highly dynamic, capable and comfortable machine.

According to the sources of BMW, it is expected that the next generation 530i model will be included with steer by wire system that is used in the aircraft. The BMW model will use a mechanical link between the front wheels and steering wheel. If any problem occurs to the system, the vehicle will default to a 15:1 ratio and hence the working of the vehicle does not stop at any point of time. The ultimate effect after using this system is that, apart from speed, the driver can use the same small level of steering wheel input to handle vehicle even in turns.

The additional features that are expected to be included in the 2010 530i model will be adaptive head lights, brake lights, flat run tires, climate control, dynamic drive control, active steering and cruise control, tire pressure monitoring system, as well as the sophisticated iDrive system.

The adaptive head lights in the vehicle will be made up of bi-xenon units that will rotate to illuminate the road in a turn. The brake lights will illuminate whenever more pressure is applied on the brakes.

The vehicle will be offered in different body styles and colors. Complimenting the exterior of the vehicle, the interior region attracts the customers as they are designed using innovative technologies. The sports luxury car will include all the amenities needed for the next generation sports sedan.

Used Sports Cars | Best Hybrid Cars of 2009 and 2010

The best hybrid cars of 2009 are even better in 2010. The qualities that make a car the best depend on what your specific area of concern is, mostly centering on fuel economy and performance on the road.

If you focus on simply getting the best fuel economy, the Toyota Prius is absolutely the best hybrid car for you. At 48 mpg, it has the best fuel economy of any car available in the United States. Some drivers report that, with very careful driving, a light foot, use of cruise control whenever possible, minimal use of the AC and heat, and in optimal weather conditions, they can get up to 70 miles per gallon. The amazing fuel efficiency is offset by its sluggish pick-up, but even so, it's a great commuter car if you can tolerate staying in the 55-65 mph range and it gets pretty good mileage in-town too, in the 40s even with stop-start city driving.

If you're more focused on performance than fuel efficiency, the Toyota Hybrid Camry feels more like a conventional car, and still manages to get a respectable 34 miles per gallon. It's expensive at $26,150 compared to $19,395 for the basic conventional Camry which advertises 22-33 mpg. The interior is nice and roomy, and driving it is similar to driving the conventional Camry.

If you wouldn't mind splitting the difference between power and fuel economy, the Mercury Milan Hybrid and the Ford Fusion Hybrid are cool with attractive styling, around 40 mpg in-town, and a great driving experience. The 2010 editions of the Fusion and its Mercury cousin, the Milan, are updated, more stylish than their predecessors, with updated instrument panels and the Sync voice-activated entertainment and communication system. The instrument panel sports a "green" leaf-sprouting display when you are saving fuel. The switch-over between the gas engine and the electrical system is said to the most seamless of any car on the road, making virtually no noise and no jolt that has become rather typical for these cars. At around $30K, both cars are somewhat steep buys, but the cool styling and peppy performance are worth the price.

Other possibilities in your search for the best hybrid cars might include the Chevy Malibu Hybrid, advertised as getting 29 mpg and going for $22,800, the Honda Civic Hybrid, at $22,600, the Honda Insight, selling for $19,800, with a promised 41mpg, the Nissan Altima Hybrid, advertising 34 mpg at $26,800, or perhaps the 2010 VW Touareg, for which the specs are not yet out. Test drive them all, and get a feel for hybrids. Everybody's getting into the field, and there's no time like the present.

If qualification for hybrid tax credit is considered as a factor in the competition for best hybrid cars, then some of the favorite models, such as the Prius, Camry and Civic, will no longer qualify. This is the qualifying 2009 hybrid car tax credit chart from the IRS site:

Chrysler Aspen Hybrid-- $2200 tax credit
Dodge Durango Hybrid-- $2200 tax credit
Ford Escape Hybrid, 2 WD-- $ 3000 tax credit
Ford Escape Hybrid, 4 WD-- $1950 tax credit
Mazda Tribute Hybrid, 2 WD-- $3000 tax credit
Mazda Tribute Hybrid, 4 WD-- $1950 tax credit
Mercury Mariner Hybrid, 2 WD-- $3000 tax credit
Mercury Mariner Hybrid, 4 WD-- $1950 tax credit
Nissan Altima Hybrid-- $2350 tax credit

Used Sports Cars | 2010 Ford Edge Review

The 2010 Ford Edge is a small pickup SUV that comes in four trim levels: Limited, SE, SEL, and Sport. All the latest generation conventional features are installed in all trims. Among these trim levels, SE is the basic trim but even that arrives with antilock, full power accessories, stability control, 17-inch alloy wheels, and air-conditioning. Apart from the features in SE trim, those who want more luxurious features have to look for other trims such as Limited and SEL trims. Like the Limited trim, the Sport trim has faux suede upholstery, special body design, and larger 20-inch alloy wheels.

A 3.5-liter V6 engine powers the 2010 Edge that churns out 265 horsepower. The car comes with optional all-wheel drive that has a standard six-speed automatic transmission. It automatically enhances the efficiency by using a cruise control system with all-wheel drive. The power of between 50-60 percent is automatically sidetracked to the back wheels to wipe out wheels spin.

Usually, the seats in third-row are becoming popular in all the latest generations minivans. But, the 2010 Edge lacks this feature and doesn't offer the optional 3rd row seats; however, it comes with a spacious 2nd row seat. To enhance the space of the cargo, the back seats can also be folded or reclined forward. In comparison to its close rivals, storage capacity of the Edge is somewhat low. Even though ergonomically and functionally, it has sound planning, the cabin requires a good amount of interior decoration to catch up with its rivals. Unfortunately, the low quality of the components in interior section of 2010 Ford Edge is fairly visible.
